Rancid - with AFI & The Distillers
November 4/00 @ the warehouse

THE DISTILLERS

Well, I missed all of the Distillers as I waited in line for Rancid merch heh...but from what I heard, they were alright. I swear tho, the lead singer sounds so much like Courtney Love.

AFI

Wooooooooooooo they were so good! These guys definitely got the crowd going. There were a lot of AFI fans in the audience, it was nice to see the crowd go a lil wild for opening bands. They played a cover as their closing song...but I can't figure out what song it was or who it was originally by heh...anyone know?

RANCID

These guys rocked so hard! This was my final band in "I gotta see all my favourite bands at least once" thank god I got to see d.b.s. before they broke up, or that woulda sucked! So, my dream has been fulfilled and oh man..these guys put on the performance of a lifetime and this concert will rewl forever! heh :) They played all three of my ultimate favourite songs! I never thought it possible..and as yet, no other band has done so. Ya wanna know what my three favourite songs are don't ya? alright, I'll tell ya... Journey To The End Of The East Bay <-- my most favourite, Radio <-- which was their last song woohoo! and Hoover Street oh man and they were all awesome :) Rancid played such a long set, I was a very super happy bouncy farfie heh :) They started everything off with Maxwell Murder and got the crowd jumping and bouncing and cheering immediately. During their set they played : salvation, avenues and alleyways, the wars end, gunshot, lock step and gone, burn, tenderloin, poison, rejected, let me go and soooo many more :) Tim, Lars, Brett and Matt were so passionate during their set, it was just an awesome performance and I was so happy to be there. After they finished radio they guys left the stage and soon after the whole audience united as one to chant over n over "rancid, rancid rancid" till they came back out and performed ruby soho to the delight of all the fans. I called it heh..when they finished radio I said to my friend Julie... "hey wait, they haven't played ruby soho yet...must be the encore" heh :) Even though that was their over-played radio song, it was totally kool to hear it live :) there was a big ol circle pit for two of the songs which was totally kool. AFI, the distillers, and rancid have a lotta love for each other n that's so awesome to see. Lars asked that we all look out for each other n not let anyone get hurt in the pit :) This show just rocked so hard n I loved every minute of it. Rancid rewls :)
