The Weakerthans - with Moneen, Fembots, & Dillan Dog
North Bramalea United Church, Sunday September 17/00

It's worth the trip to Brampton! It all started out with the band Dillan Dog. The guitarist Harris goest to UTM by coincidence. They were rockin! I asked the guys for an interview and they were like, "Can we break stuff?" That scared me a little, but they were cool. Next was the Fembots, weird interesting music. It was such a nice night, so Mike and I went outside and listened to it. We found out that a lot of their music was in 3/4 time, so we danced the waltz throughout their set. Next was Moneen, our buddies from the lovely town of Brampton. They rocked the Sunday School room for 40 minutes. Incorporated in their set was some keyboards. I later found out from Lisa (moneen girl) that Kenny just found the keyboard at the church and that he used it on the spot. They played new songs that definitely got the crown going. Kenny as always was going crazy. New Chris (the bassist) was really rocking. Peter was soooo rockin that he broke the bass drum petal (how metal!). The hippie (Chris) was amazing as well. This band breaks through the mundane of most of the music industry. They have an energy and vitality that most bands only dream of.
